Once you share your income documents and CNIC, most individual returns are prepared and filed within 24–48 hours, subject to how quickly clarifications (if any) are provided. The annual deadline is September 30, but we recommend filing well before then.
Salaried income under Rs 600,000 a year is exempt from tax, but you may still need to file — for example if you hold an NTN, own property above a certain size, or have an engine capacity of 1000cc or more. Being on the Active Taxpayer List also halves the withholding tax you pay on bank withdrawals, property, and vehicle transactions compared to a non-filer.
